Small Segment Launches to Lookout For

India is one of the biggest car market and we see number of launches every year. This year also we are most likely to see numerous upcoming vehicles being launched by the national and international manufacturers. Out of all, the hatchbacks are highly preferred and adaptable segment in India. Given the traffic sense and roads in our country, everyone from a young adult to senior citizens, everyone drives hatchback cars. Here we bring you a list of some of the long awaited upcoming hatchbacks.

  • 2018 Ford Figo Facelift

The Ford Figo gets a new facelift this year and is expected around October. The mid-cycle upgrade in this hatchback car spots the new 1.2 litre Ti-VCT three cylinder petrol engine, replacing the previous 1.2 litre four-cylinder unit. Ford claims this engine is the most powerful 1.2 litre petrol engine in the country. The expected price of this car ranges from 4.8 to 7.2 lakhs.

  • Honda Jazz

The updated Honda Jazz is expected to launch with minor exterior detailing to provide a modern look. Better safety features including ABS, EBD as well as reverse parking sensors are also expected to be standard. This new hatchback car comes with all black interiors and will use a different fabric trim. The new will also have an infotainment system that will be loaded with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It is powered with 1.5 litre diesel and 1.2 litre petrol engine.

  • Tata Tiago JTP

Tata Motors has been working on a performance version of Tiago in alliance with Jayem Automotives. This upcoming performance variant of the popular hatchback car is powered by 1.2-litre petrol engine and a performance-tuned suspension with updated gearbox. The launch is likely to take place by the end of this year.

  • Datsun Go Facelift

The updated Datsun Go will be launched with larger grill, sportier bumper, new refined head lamps and a set of LED DRLs. On the inside, it gets a touchscreen infotainment unit. This hatchback car will most probably continue with the manual transmission and the launch is expected around Diwali this year and is expected to be priced around 3.3 to 4.3 lakhs.

  • Hyundai i20 Facelift

The upcoming Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to launch with multiple styling upgrades and some new features as well. With Hyundai updating the Grand i10, Xcent sedan, and the new-gen Verna, i20 is the only car that has not received an update. The upcoming hatchback car will continue with the same 82 bhp 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual unit, and the 89 bhp 1.4-litre U2 CRDI diesel engine matched with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This car will also have a more powerful 99 bhp 1.4-litre dual VTVT petrol engine mated to a 4-speed automatic torque converter. The car will continue its rivalry with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Volkswagen Polo.
